About Us

The Short Stay School for Norfolk (SSSfN) was established in September 2011. The core role of the School is to provide education for pupils who have been excluded from school. It also provides a range of other services on behalf of the Local Authority. These include:

  • behaviour support in schools
  • a contribution to the education of pupils unable to attend school on medical grounds or otherwise
  • reintegration of excluded pupils to new schools
  • training in behaviour management issues
  • coordination of the managed move scheme

We have four main constituent schools which are spread across Norfolk:

There are also two specialist provisions:

The SSSfN does not work on Children’s Services areas or boundaries, but divides the county up according to volume of work and the capacity of each base.
